Among all the animals I adore – octopi, elephants, jellyfish, salamanders – as basic as it sounds, the C A T may just be the ultimate form of life on Earth.
Hear me out.
It is well known that housecats are the ultimate predator in the natural world. If you’re my age or older, you may remember this fact from Animal Planet’s The Most Extreme countdown. They hunt a larger variety of prey than any other mammal (and perhaps animal?). Their range as well as stealth skills make them undetectable until it is too late.
Then there’s their durability. Few other mammals can fall from 60 feet and land completely unharmed. Their limberness comes in handy is the many precarious situations they get themselves into. Not to mention their SUPERPOWER of healing themselves with purring. Indeed, purring promotes bone and muscle healing!
As the internet has proven since its conception, cats are hilarious. They come with countless personalities and act in ways humans can’t help but find SO amusing.
Last but not least, (most) cats are incredibly cuddly and loving towards their owners as well as other cats. Overall, they are an organism manufactured to meet every possible need in both nature and domestic settings. That is all.
